Ha azt hittétek, hogy a The Game Awards és a D.I.C.E. Awards után már nem kell új polcokat vennie a Sandfall Interactive-nek ahhoz, hogy elférjenek az Elden Ring-et is leköröző Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 díjai, nagyot tévedtetek, hiszen – minő meglepő – az április 17-én megrendezésre kerülő BAFTA Game Awards-on is a franciák JRPG-je került az élre a maga 12 jelölésével. A tavalyi év nagy meglepetése természetesen versenyben van a legjobb játéknak járó díjért (tippre el is fogja vinni), de emellett a Legjobb debütáló játék és a Legjobb művészi teljesítmény kategóriában is szerepel, ahogy a főszereplőket megszólaltató Jennifer English (Maelle) és Ben Starr (Verso) is megkaparinthat egy szobrot – pontosabban csak az egyikük, hiszen egy kosárba került a nevük. A 12 jelöléssel egyébként a díjátadó történetének harmadik legjobb címével van dolgunk, egyedül a The Last of Us Part 2 és a God of War Ragnarök előzi meg 13 illetve 14 jelöléssel.
A második helyre a Telltale Games fénykorát idéző szuperhősös kaland, a Dispatch került kilenc jelöléssel, a dobogó harmadik fokára pedig a PS5 exkluzív Ghost of Yotei állhatott nyolc említéssel. Az imént felsorolt programok mellett Hideo Kojima legutóbbi remekműve, a Norman Reedus nevével fémjelzett Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, az Indiana Jones and the Great Circle és az extraction shooter műfajt uraló ARC Raiders is az élvonalba került – íme a kategóriák és a jelöltek:
